tamper proof bolt in p7100?

does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? i am not sure if the guy i bought the truck from was 100% honest with me about what is done to the pump. so how do i tell if anyone has a picture of the break away bolt or whatever its called that is on the afc housing it would be greatly appriciated.

The tamper proof bolt is the one on the passenger side rear if I remember correctly. If it looks different than all the others then it is still factory. If it looks modified or the same as the others then it is not factory.

It is the top left bolt on the AFC housing if your standing and looking over the driver side fender. If it is still the stock bolt then it is a bolt with a rounded head, if not it will be a regular lookin bolt.

Tell you the truth after thinkin bout it I cant remember if its the top left or the top right bolt:argh:

its on the passenger side front corner of the afc, underneath the lines to the injectors, looks kinda like a rivet

yea i know what one it is i just cant tell if its stock or not. it looks like it has a allen head on it. it looks new i guess i should jsut go ahead and take it off and look inside and see if it is a true #10 plate. the truck barely blows any smoke and none at highway speeds. i like that because smoke gets annoying. but it feels underpowered.

if he told u he has a number 10 plate in it, and it has an alan head bolt in the top front hole, then it is not the stock bolt. easiest way to find out if it is a number ten, is to pull the plate and look at it. there are several diagrams in the 12v section of different plates. good luck figuring it out :tu:

i found out tonight it has a 10 plate in the stock location... i think im going to set it half forward and move the star wheel a tad. so my next question is how touchy is the star wheel? will just one revolution be a sigificant gain? im not looking for smoke but ive heard it helps to have it moved a little.

two oe three turns will be good just remember when you start turning it up if you dont have guages get some

ive been a diesel nut for 8 years now, but ive been a die hard vp44 guy so im kinda starting over from scratch with the p7100 will the star wheel help power of just make smoke?if it just makes smoke im leaving it in the current location.

the star wheel is the fuel to boost adjustment tuning your afc is highly recommended a few turn will only help also moving the plate forward and the afc housing foward helps none of these mods are going to make a hella smoke if you turned the star wheel all the way up it still wouldnt smoke unless you put your foot into it but tuning the afc will definetly give you more power :tu:
