overdrive solenoid
 
any body heard of it?

i think its why i have no overdrive. what can i do to fix it?

any help please

Its a little dome shaped thing if I remember right. Its real simple but make sure you get a 12v one and not a 24v one or it will cause problems. You can just order one and put the new one in to solve your problem. I can't remember for the life of me where its located though. Someone will chime in and help im sure.

to test it unplug the main plug on the side of the tranny and hook up a lock uop switch except splice into the orange and black wire i think it's pin #1.that takes the computer out and you are actually grounding it out without going through the computer.

thats right for the lock up switch but thats not overdrive overdrive is a seperate part of the tranny thier is the lock up clutch in the torque converter and thier is overdrive thier is a difference make sure you are looking for the right thing is it lock up that is not working or is it the overdrive

if it is shifting into 4th gear then the lock up solenoid is good.all he sai was wrong was that it won't lock up.

well i cant figure out if it isnt locking up or if i have no overdrive i just know it will only do 70 mph with 3.55s:se:
