370 hp marine injectors

I am looking at buying a set of 370 marine injectors for my truck and i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of power you can expect out of them and also what fuel plate i might want to run with them.

12vcummins96 10-28-2009 12:59 PM

about 75 hp also make sure they are new era or ddp becuase the spray pattern is wrong with stock 370s if you use stock 370s make sure you put the thinnest washer on them to get them further into the bowl with those injectors i ran a 100 i liked the 100 good luck buddy

BD Cummins 10-28-2009 02:07 PM

when you say the stock 370 does that mean the bosch injectors

12vcummins96 10-28-2009 02:30 PM

yes sorry

BD Cummins 10-28-2009 02:36 PM

ok now what would you recommend grinding my fuel plate down to with those marine injectors and have you ever heard of guys having starting problems after putting those injectors in

12vcummins96 10-28-2009 02:45 PM

i had no starting problems and go to a 100 on the fuel plate:U:

Make sure you get a set of gauges cause it will get hot very quickly, and make sure you get some injectors with the correct spray pattern.

BD Cummins 10-28-2009 02:57 PM

ok cool and should i keep the fuel plate centered or move it forward and what about the afc star wheel is it recommended to mess with that

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

ya i got a set of gauges and my pyro all ready climbs pretty fast as is

rkadcock 10-28-2009 03:07 PM

The fuel plate location really depends on how you and your pump tuning. I'd start in the middle then move it forward as well as the star wheel and find the spot you personally like. You might also want to start looking at aftermarket clutches becasue a 100 plate alone can slip the stock clutch

BD Cummins 10-28-2009 03:23 PM

ok cool i will start playing around with both the fuel plate and star wheel thanks for your help

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

also with doing the injector upgrade and the fuel plate would it be wise to put a fass fuel system on or comperable

It wouldn't hurt. Its said that the stock lift pumps on the 12V are good for 500hp but I've never personally tested it or seen it. If anything an aftermarket lift pump at any level is cheap insurance policy. Theirs nothing like shelling out to 2K for a new injection pump when something as simple and "cheap" as a FASS or Airdog could have saved it.

BD Cummins 10-28-2009 03:41 PM

ya i hear ya there well thanks again for the info

12valvetater 10-28-2009 04:14 PM

well the thing with ppumps is if they dont get enough fuel it will either draw its own or it will shut off it doesnt rely soley on diesel fuel to lube like a vp ppumps are lubed via engine oil

94 12valve 10-28-2009 05:08 PM

the plungers in a ppump are lubed by fuel ... so if you run the pump out of fuel you run the risk of blowing a plunger.

Also the p pump will not run with out fuel press it can not draw its own.

DDP 3's and 4's are 155°, not 145°.

i was pointed in their direction came highly recommended

and great pricing as well give cris a call and see what he says

might save you some money --- when u figure out u shouldn't have got the 370s'

BD Cummins 10-29-2009 11:11 AM

ok i will give them a call i havent bought anything yet thats why i am asking around to find out what guys have had best luck with why do you say not to get marine 370's

rkadcock 10-29-2009 12:12 PM

From what I have heard, is that the 370s smoke alot and smokes cool and all but it gets old fast. Thats why I went with Dynamite Diesel injectors. But now I'm switch my DDPs to Industrial Injection.

BD Cummins 10-29-2009 12:17 PM

ya i am looking for more power to help with towing a trailer all the time but also try and stay in a budget are DDPs a good injector and if i may ask why are you switching to industrial injection

Smokem 10-29-2009 12:20 PM

I would rather use something from DDP than II, if I had to choose between the two.

rkadcock 10-29-2009 03:54 PM

Im building my 97 into my sled pulling/drag truck and I want something bigger. I spent close to an hour on the phone with Industrial and I'm pretty much sold on their 250hp injectors. I'm just waiting to get the engine rebuilt then I'm switching my whole fueling and turbo system in Industrial

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

But I've never had a problem with my DDPs. Definet improvement, with the proper AFC tuning they didn't smoke like a train, but when I got around 95 mph they would haze a little

I have seen 792hp on fuel only out of a set of off the shelf stock marine 370's in a twin charger equipped 12v.

Do Not get me started on how bad DDP and II injectors are,we do not have enough space for that.

What injector would you recommend then for a all out sled pulling truck then? I would like to know to save me some money down the road
