intake heater working or not?

when i start the truck cold it starts right up and idles down and starts to skip for a few seconds. If i touch the gas it runs perfect. It just seems like the intake heater but the light still comes on and the battery still lags when it turns on??? any ideas?

its fine......the grid heaters will work until it comes up to a certain temp or when you hit 25 mph I believe

sounds like injectors might be dirty to me

BLACKSMOKEMOAN 10-21-2009 10:23 PM

its been about a year since i put injectors in it. Ill start with the fuel filter i guess. But i would think it would run shitty all the time. Still soots so i dont know:humm:

bring the idle up a hair... durring grid cycles there's a good bit of a load that the alternator puts on the engine. if your idle is already low and it cycles and drops rpms say... 100rpm... it'll be enough to make the old girl knock and clatter

yeah but it still doesnt start like it used to. I used to hit the key and it would fire. Now it spins over a few seconds or not as long if i touch the gas?? Like i said, im gonna start with filters this weekend after school
