Well.. Without the leveling kit on mine.. I fit 315 17r16's.. It only rubbed on hard hard right turns.

35's comfortably but i know i guy who has 37s on ridiculously offset rims and he claims theres no rubbing. i run 305 TSL's on stock 02 rims and have no problems

bryson 10-18-2009 07:57 PM

315/75r16 or 315/70r17 (roughly a 35x12.5) usually fit... Worst case scenario you rub the lower control arms at full turn.

35's for sure. thats all i have is a 2.5 leveling kit. my 35's rub the back of the wheel well when the wheel is at full lock and i hit a bump or something.

well a buddy wants to sell me his 33.5 on 16" american racings for like $500 so he can get 35s but i already have the level kit maybe i should just grab 35s myself

x2 but personaly I think thats to big of a tire to run w/ out a lift.

35's will fit on the truck with a 2" leveling kit but you should give the right consideration to the proper wheel backspacing or they will stick outside the body lines terribly.I have had 35's on mine for a few years and even with the proper backspacing they rubbed the front left inner fenderwell when you turned to full left lock.I fixed that by going to a longer control arm to recenter the front axle a fix the suspension geometry which also made it drive like a dream. Here is a shot of mine with the 35's from the Numidia NADM show........Andy

It really depends on the rim and the tire tread honestly. I have 285 (approx 33") TOYO MT's and they only clear the lower control arm by 3/16" and I have a 2" kit up front. the 315's rub on the OEM rim and the 2" up front.

With different rims this would likely not be a problem. There is also a difference depending on the the type of lift as well.

I run plenty of slow speed, hard turns and wasn't interested in rubbing so...

With 4.5" backspaced wheels 315's fit no problem. I've run them on 3 of my 2nd gens. However, some tires are slightly larger than others. My Nitto's rub the wheel well in the front, although my X-Terrain's never did.

Wyatt Earp 10-19-2009 10:14 AM

is back spaced the same as a negative offset? negative is closer to the motor, possitive is further away.:humm:

MotorOilMcCall 10-19-2009 10:47 AM

Not exactly, but close. Offset is measured from the centerline of the wheel. Backspacing is measured from the outside edge.

Wyatt Earp 10-19-2009 10:55 AM

What I'm getting at is you have wheels and tires closer to the motor and they dont rub? I find that interesting. Do you have OEM control arms?

I'd be interested in throwing some 35's under my truck but I think I need new wheels to do so that they don't rub on hard turns. I have no plans on new control arms.

i think im going to just grab these 33.5s.. will the wheel wells atleast look full? even with the 2" level kit i just want it to look beast. i got a regcab 8ft bed he has the same truck with no level kit and it looks beast...i just dont want it to look worse on mine cause of my frontend being a tad more beef

Wyatt Earp 10-19-2009 05:28 PM

Yes, generally. My 33's are decent in the space. 35's would be better but there's that rubbing thing again.

collinscummins 10-20-2009 10:07 PM

I dont have a leveling kit and i barely rub with my tires. Since the toyo mt is closer to 35" than most other 315's its the only tire i rub with. When i had my highway tread 315's on, no rub at all.
