sun cracked dash cover

I fixed my dash today, i went to the junk yard, pulled the top dash cover off a nice cahs for clunker, and man was that a pain in the ass. I didn't think that it would be that hard to do, just figured it was a 2 beer job, ended up being a 12pac job. Got it on my truck and boy does it look good. Very happy with the job, just want to hear some thoughts or comments from pple who have done this.:ouch:

I've done 2 and its more like a 36pack job. If you get the whole assembley to titlt without braking nothing its a lot easier. The 1st one I did I did the upper and lower halves at the same time it was way easier that way

if you just take all the bolts out of the front of the dash up against the windshield and the pull the two bolts out of the steering column and pop o the steering wheel, all that is left is to loosen two bolt below the dash. one on each side, you have to let it fall down and the unplug the wiring harness to the main going under the hood and the ac and your done. it was very confusing for me the first time bc i tried to take it out piece by peice. it is much easier to just take out the whole damn thing. and it only takes a small handful of tools. if you know how it is pretty easy.
