from wat i here its going to be any trucks with particulators and up ... they cant make it retroactive ... and from wat i have heard from my instructor at school who works with the bar its not even going to be a dynoed run ... just visual on mods and stuff and an idle, half throtle and full

davo79 10-13-2009 08:14 PM

Ok first off they can't force a truck pre 98 to comply because unless it was a california truck with emmisions ie an egr and or cat on it to put them on. My truck was one of the lucky non egr non emmission compliant trucks sold in california when chrysler was in the hole. Second in order to enforce the retrofit they have to issue a grant to the vehicle owner to help pay for it wich is actually a loan because they want the money back. Here's the kicker the gov is broke so they can't issue the loans so they can't enforce the 2010 tier3 emmisions laws hahaha

ya its not sposed to even be put infront of the bar board untill 2011 to possably be put into effect in 2012/13

anything before 96 that is not OBD II compliant has a set of standards it needs to pass, they do not change those standards with upcoming emissions. actually that stands all the way up to 2 years to the current year. you have nothing to worry about, its just for manufacturers. unless you fail a particulate test.

Glad I don't live in Cali. All they do around here is stop you by a sale barn and make sure your not running red fuel. :c:
