Default Transmission Swap

hey guys just wondering if anyone here has swapped their nv4500 for a 6speed? im fixing to have the opportunity to buy one really cheap from my mother inlaws truck that she locked the motor up in and is now parting it out. just wanted to see what im up against. im really hoping it will bolt right up

ok. what bout drive shaft?? think i will need a custom one built?

i dont know i think the 5600 is bigger so i dont know jsut pull everything out from under the truck

You will need BOTH driveshafts to do the job as the rear is shorter and the front is longer.You will also need the rear transmission mount,bellhousing and starter spacer.

had a few buddies put them in their trucks one from a auto to 5600 and other from 4500 to 5600 both said the nv5600 is about two inches bigger and wouldnt fit well where the bell housing sits, so they had to buy some adapter plate to move it back further to fit. ive never done this swap myself but have helped on two so take it or leave it. good luck

ok well i appreciate it man. any idea where i could pick up an adapter plate for it??

The adapter plates on the backe of the engine get the flywheel off and take the 6 bolts off the plate and walla you got one
