Nothing wrong with this way if you know that the pin isn't already working its way out. If it is, you get to pull the cover. Personally, I won't do it the fast way because the other 5 bolts are always loose and should be tightened up as well. Plus, most of our front covers leak anyway. May as well stop that leak while you're at it.

My first one took four hours including a few beer breaks. Hardest part was getting the fan out. Other than that, it's just a little time consuming.
