Just had it in llyod at cummins. they replaced the lift pump and tuned it up. on the way to edmonton early this am was coming up a little hill and it just died off. wouldnt even start. did this last time thats why it went to cummins. Any ideas on what could do this?? Please. dropped 700.00 last time . not looking forward to another big bill.

well.. its a new pump not even two weeks old. the other part of the fix was valve adjustments,, timming and the labour.

I would do what he ^ said - make sur ethe soleniod pulls all the way up when the key is turned on.

Next, I would look at verifying the timing. What did they set it at? How much did they change it? Its possible that they screwed up the timing or valve adjustment.

Checking fuel pressure is also a good idea. This is going to take some investigation on your part.

okay thanks guys, will check those items. dealer called me today and said they didnt change the fuel filter and it was toast. i used a napa 3349 cause thats all i could get my hands on but after this incident i will only use cummins or fleetgaurd. i check the selenoid before and it seemed alright... .Cummins is suppose to change the fuel filter if they do a tune up. i will be making a call to them when i get a chance.

this all started with a fuel filter change... go figure.
