Dodge Trans Issue

I have a 1994 Dodge 2500 w/ the 4-speed 47RE trans.

I've noticed recently that my converter unlocks for no reason at all - every 5 - 6 seconds while in overdrive the converter locks up, then unlocks, giving me ~200 - 300 rpm jump, followed by a drop whenever it locks back up.

Some History:
Couple of weeks ago I pulled some random guy out of a mud hole... (thank god for the 3kgsk or I'd have been stuck too). After I got back out of the hole I noticed my Trans Temp light on - so I immediately let the truck sit for about 2 hours. The next day I serviced the transmission, and didn't notice any problems other than the one described above.. Before I changed the fluid, the trans would go into OD AND lock up at WAY too low a speed.. like, 25 mph - that went away after the servicing.

I'm active duty military, and I'm changing duty stations next week - I have a 650 mile drive that has to be done at interstate speeds, so I really need to work this out! THX in advance!

Edit:
I'm fairly decent regarding these transmissions - I rebuilt the one in it right now, and I've done several for friends - but what might cause this issue? The lockup is controlled electrically, but is there something I need to reset in the computer? Maybe it's kicking it out of lockup because of the Trans Temp issue I had? The Trans Temp light comes on sometimes for maybe a few seconds while I'm going down the road... but extinguishes almost immediately.

Did you install the 47RE? Those trucks came with a 47RH and shouldn't have a computer. When the one in my 95 died it was after a pull and using all of the 3k rpm's it started locking up really low and then nothing. Not sure what not sure what would cause the jumping, what speed where you driving? My 98 used to do that OD in and out around 45mph until I did the foil over the batter cable trick to reduce the interference. Im no trans expert just a few thoughts.

As far as I know it _came_ with the 47RH, it had it whenever I purchased the truck. I have noticed the truck locking up a little lower than usual with the 3kgsk... my OD stays in and works great, its just the lockup that's messed up :(

This might cure your problems, it did on our truck.

I put a mystery switch on it to get home... but the trans temp light still comes on, and whenever I put the switch in stock mode it still jumps in out... ideas?
