i dont have any 4th gear lock up my truck will only do 70 mph to the floor!!!

will it lock in 3rd? does it kick in and out? if it wont lock in 3rd, check ur O/D off switch. if its not hooked up then u wont have lockup, or if its bad. are ur brake lights stayin on? if so check ur brake switch, when u press the brakes it unlocks the tc so if thats bad it wont lock. if its kickin in n out check ur TPS. thats about as far as my knowledge goes, these other guys know a hell of a lot more than i do.

 

well here is how it is when overdrive is on it usually locks at 45 mph and when overdrive is off it locks at 30mph now when on it does not lock at all and it will only do 70 when you put it to the floor. the brake switch is good cuz i just replaced it because it was stuck

any ideas?

please tell me i dont need a convertor

both my abs and brake light are on but the truck stops fine and the e brake is off

just looked up and went to check the codes i only have code 12 and 55


could it still be the tps?

or do i need a convertor?

it still locks up when overdrive is off i dont get it
