water in fuel light
my water in fuel light is on and i cant get it to go off. put fuel stabalizer in and everything ran it almost all the way out a couple of times and put more good fuel and stabalizer in it and it wont go off
did you change or drain the water out of the fuel filter?
havent got that far yet. didnt know if i was gonna have to?
im not familiar with the cummins fuel filter set up, does it have a drain to let the water out of the filter?
yes it does.
Drain fuel out of the filter housing remove the bottom, take filter out and wipe out with a lint free cloth, including the wif sensor. Put back together and take off wire connector, spray with wd-40 and reisntall. |
when ur takin off the WIF (water in fuel) sensor BE CAREFULL the thing is plastic and likes to break real easy!:argh:
thanks guys. do you have to re-prime the system and if so how do yu do that exactly
yeh you do... theres primer bulb... alls you gotta do is push that thingabout 50 times n you should be good... its bellow the filte i think:humm:
open the banjo bolt on top of the fuel filter housing. Push the primer (its much easier with a wooden dowel). When fuel starts dribbling out of the open banjo close it. Start trucks.
