moving fuel plate
i want to move my stock fuel plate forward. i have the star wheel turned up will that matter when i move my plate? or can it stay up and move the plate
|
well first off what do you want to keep the same? or what do you not want to change by moving the fuel plate? if ur talking mpgs... yeh you gonna lose a little.... egts are also gonna go up and the amount of fuel being dumped into the cylinders is gonna go up a little... so you can move the plate and star wheel at the same time.... you just wanna tune ur pump so it has the right amount of fuel v air ratio... there is no instrucions or step by step procedure to do this... because every truck is different... just play around with the star wheel and afc housing placement and the fuel plate (postion and profile) until you get a slight haze at WOT (wide open throttle)... thats the optimum fuel to air ratio... hope this is what u were askin :U:

yea it does thanksfor the help and someone told me somthing about the govenor arm droping under the plate when i move it all the way up does that sound like anything you heard off?
|
yeh you want the arm to touch the plate i think... otherwise it will go under the plate...which is bad:argh: heres how/what to do!
the article is by DM (diesel minded) so everything in there is right! :c: https://www.dieselbombers.com/5-9l-1...2-valve-2.html |
thanks for your help

no problem man... let me know if you need nything else!

if your running a fuel plate you want the gov arm to hit the bottom of the plate with the fuel shut down all the way up.
if your running no plate you can make the gov arm hit the afc with the shut down all the way up |
