shifter removal
 
hey guys how do i remove the shifter on my nv4500?
i cant figure it out.

to get the top part off by top i mean the part you actually put your hand on you just put a big wrench on it and twist it back and forth while pulling up to get the bottom part out the part that goes inside the shift lid there is a spring loaded ock nut that has a bayonet lug in there the easiest way is to get a big wrench that you can jam in there and push down while twisting left i think youll feel it disengage and it will pop up when its free then you just pull the bottom part of the shifter out hope you can understand what im trying to say somewhere on here is a post with a video in it showing what i mean hope this helps you out

thanks. im talking about the whole entire stick. davo79 told me just to grab it. and pull really hard and it will come off the stub on top of the tranny

sometimes they are a little tight i had to wiggle mine with a cresent wrench

It worked on mine my buddys 01 and his wifes 99 oh not to mention that's what the guy at my local trans shop told me to do so yeah they may be a little tight but they ultimatley just pull right off

It worked on my 95 as well
