tranny issues
guys i need some info ,i got two issues. 1. the transmission when im sitting at a light or parked in gear or idling the trans overheats within about ten minutes shoots to 200 degrees and wont shift i sit and let it cool down and its fine driving down the road it stays around 140 to 160 degrees even when im doing a burnout.number 2. when i get on it and the black smoke clears the turbo lites and the tranny slips for some reason but no high temps. its got a bd torgue converter rated for 450hp and 850 ftlbs and a bd valve body installed by my local tranny garage. they checked the clutch bands and other things they said it was fine they told me to take all my tranny lines off both tranny coolers and run new lines to only one tanny cooler and see if that helps but i dont trust them anymore . i need some advice thanks guys
well i tryed that and its about 10 degrees hotter with a temp gun i know something is going on with it when it gets above 200 degrees she wont shift or do anything, put it thorugh all the gears all she does is rev up and wont go nowhere
update: overheating issue fixed, but anyone know where i can get tranny lines . the plastic clip thats holds the line in the transmission keeps coming loose and blowing tranny fluid everywhere. i want to get something that u have to screw in instead of thoose clips
the new updated lines form the dealer are pricey, like 500bux or so, you could cut the ends of the metal lines off and put red 5/8s tranny line over them and double hose clap them, thats what i would do anyway
re did mine useing stainless steel fittings 1/2inch tubeing by 1/2 inch NPT, worked like a charm, and just did a friends truck bout 6 months ago useing all hydraulic hoses for tractor rated, had them made to order at the hydraulic shop and pre cleaned to keep containation out, still working for him, gonna re do mine when i get my engine back from the builders
