ever heard of it?

anybody on here ever heard of a halo ring? sprays co2 infront of the intercooler to lower egt's. i was thinkin just take some copper pipe, put some holes in it, n hook it to a co2 fire extinguisher haha. any ideas?:pca1:

i actually made one for a volvo intercooler for a car aplication one time. it was entirely too big and flowed too much but i got my money out of it when i sold it.

you can use a CO2 tank from a paintball gun, get the remote line kit ( Remote Coil Co2 Air Line Marker Hose Paintball Gun Tank - eBay (item 380143544811 end time Aug-03-09 20:04:28 PDT) )from a paintball supply or online, get you some copper tubing, and some misc fittings and a valve from lowes and go to town, learn how to solder/sweat pipes, then get the smallest drill bit you can find, start making very few holes and see how it sprays. remember that closer to the outlet of the intercooler will make the outlet air temp the coldest.....

couldnt this actually lower power since your shooting co2 inti the air charge since it would displace oxygen to the engine? i know that weve used co2 fire extinguisher to stop runaway engines

I'm sure that Benjamin is saying it was sprayed on the outside....

i would't use a extinguisher you could use big co2 tanks for like paint ball guns because you can't have the stuff comeing out of the extinguisher but yea if you put a tube across there that would work

sounds like it should work fine :U:

what'd be the purpose of this? for dyno runs? you could regulate it for a constant flow but it'd ice up pretty quickly. if your pullin a hill it'd prob stay thawed until you got to the top... but with prolonged use i'm sure it'll ice over.

as benjamin said the closer to the outlet the cooler it'll be... you could coil it around the intake tube before it sprays infront of the intercooler... the co2 will cool the entire copper line and draw heat from the intake and also be able to reap the benefits of the co2 leak over the cores... use a hook up for an ice maker its like 20 bucks for 10 er 15 feet of 1/4 in copper tubing.
