i was thinking about str8 piping my stock 3" but i want to know if its a waste of time... will i notice a signifigant amount or should i just go to 4" and whats a good 4" under 400.00

big difference

jaybuller 07-18-2009 10:52 AM

is it a big difference in just sound, or can you actually feel the extra power or see the fuel savings at the pump? I thought about strait piping mine but for 289 or so you can get a new 4" turbo back system with all new piping.

The 4" will sound good! If you could got with 5" that would sound better... Seems like you will still be under $400

i got a 5in system to behind the rear axle without a downpipe and with a muffler for 300.00 from nick at low budget diesel put out a price request the vendors on here are great

i had mine straight piped for 40 bucks :U: sound wise yes it makes a good difference in sound. honestly i love it, idk about fuel wise i play too much with it

No difference in power with exhaust.
Sounds will differ from 3"-5" with the 3" having a more defined crack to it and the bigger you go the more of a bellow it has instead of a crack when you hit it hard.

5" will hurt your low end power and raise your torque numbers when it gets cold outside as the exhaust cools to quickly inside the pipe and instead of flowing feeely your hainvg to push it out.
