12V Power
Well I have now pulled our fifth wheel camper a few hundred miles with the old '96 dually. She is stock and I think I would like more power. Is the best thing to do to modify the fuel plate and install a K&N filter? I've heard about changing the pump timing as well but that seems difficult. I do have a good set of gauges in the truck and it seems that going down the highway with the camper I usually run about 5-10 pounds of boost and 900 degrees EGT. When going up big hills I get to 18-20 pounds of boost and up to 1200 degrees for short periods. These all seem like safe numbers but what happens when I start feeding more fuel and air?
well if you add more fuel the egts are going to go up... the only way to add more fuel and keep a short leash on those egts would be...
1)get a bigger turbo
2)get twins
3)cold air intake... or just a better intake
4)nitrous
5)block the wastgate (more boost)
6)straight pipe
7)dont add more fuel.. hahaha

Am I correct in assuming that 1200 is fairly safe? If I do add more fuel how far could the temp go? Will the thing hold up to pulling on a regular basis? I have already noticed that the mileage has been cut about in half. Usually I get about 22MPG on the highway without a load and only about 12MPG with the camper. I thought that me be a little better but who knows...
set of 5x12 injectors twins 100 plate afc tuned and youll be able to pull that camper to hell and back with no het issues and more power than you know what to do with but your clutch/auto will be gone in no time. fill out your sig so we know what you have
