brakes???????

so last night i changed my oil filter, fuel filter and oil. that went good and it took 2 dead batteries and a jump to get her started again :w2: .. but then this little red light came on next to my steering wheel, and it has no writing or anything by it and my power brakes dont work :argh: :argh:. I was thinking the power steering fluid could be low.. idk what else ny sugestions??? :humm:

BAD ASS RAM 07-02-2009 06:37 AM

well first of all the power steering doesn't have anything to do with your brakes!:argh::lolleft:

The power steering actually does have something to do with the brakes, trust me I know... We were out screwing around and I hit the slope of a hill and and took out my power steering pump :argh: and not only did I lose my steering but I lost my brakes once all of the fluid drained.

i do believe it wasnt till 97 when they introduced the hydro booster off the power stearing pump. 94-97 used vacuum at the brake booster

wisconsin redneck 07-02-2009 06:45 PM

yeh i talked to some diesel tech guys at work n they said check the vacuum lines... i can't find the power steering resivor (spelling?? ha). does nybody know where it is??

bowtech 07-02-2009 06:53 PM

wisconsin redneck 07-02-2009 08:11 PM

nvm i found what i was lookin for.. does power steering fluid ever have to be changed??

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

i just opened my fuse box under the hood and noticed that im missing 2 fuses, 1 is called ABS pump (40amp) and the other is ABS pump relay... is that why i dont have ny power brakes??

davo79 07-03-2009 04:31 AM

That's why the brake light and abs light are on but that shouldn't be why you don't have any brakes I still say vaccum line but I could be wrong
