best turbo?
i have been throwing around putting a really strong single turbo at the end of summer. i want to hear what yall think is the best turbo out there. for my self i never tow more than 10k lbs. i also have smoke at full throttle that i feel should be doing something other than being wasted. thanks in advance.

I'm sure you will get many different opinions on this. I really like my USB Bell Turbo. These things are damn near indestructible and support alot of HP. There are many good turbo's out there just depends on what your doing as far as how much fuel you have, how much pulling you do or just a daily driver. You'll get plenty of answers I'm sure:U::c:

i randomly pull trailers with my parts trucks and projects but other than that its a daily driver.

I wouldnt go with flows 5x18 is too big for what your doing. I would look into some 5x14s aka 140hp

my opinion on the best 64/71/14 turbo is from industrial injection I'd not use a 5x18 injector for a truck that has any chance of towing, way too hot and smoky.A good 5x13 or 5x14 possibly if you have a charger than you can drive around to low end lag with or even those injectors could be too hot and smoky. You asked about a charger for your truck.... Any 64/71/14 or one about that size would do the job.IF you do tow 10k on a regular basis then I would say a 62/71/14 would be a better choice as it would provide less low end lag and better overall daily drivability.I prefer the HTT line due to the stainless exhaust housings but its your truck and your choice. There are many good hard running 62's and 64's out there.High Tech,Industrial Injection and B-D are all names we know however if you dig a bit deeper then you will also find Bullseye,Forced Induction and River City. The internet squabble on who is best would start a thread which would be a moderators nightmare. They are all good in their own markets and playgrounds what you need to decide on is what the use of your truck really is then your choice of manufacturer will be alot easier........Andy |
