injector leakin on my 12 valve

i put a 12 valve in the truck a few months ago and it has been leaking since installed. they are the stock injectors. i have went through another thread and i put grease on the injector when i pulled it to try sealing it better, i took sand paper to it, i torqued it to just a lil tighter then the stock specs. it wont leak now at an idle or when it is free reved, but under a load it still leaks quite bit. unless the copper washer s bad on the return bolt it aint leaking fromn the return bolt cause it is tight. any suggestions?

Copper washer and or the o-ring are bad.

im thinkin its the copper washer becuase that o-ring on the top dont seal diesel they only seal dirt from getting inthere

Make sure you clean out the injector bores real good before you put the injectors in. It's easy to get soot and carbon buildup on the seating surface when you're changing them out. I use a cleaning brush for a shotgun to clean the bores. If you get stuff in there, the copper washers will never seal.

yep thats a good point. also i found out that if there is enough stuff in there they wont only seal but it will raise the injector .020-.010 away from the piston causing it make the injector nozzel not fire into the piston bowl

That makes sense. I never even thought of that aspect.

i noticed that when i yanked my head last week. you can see the injector pattern on the head and not the piston

It is probably a body leak on the injector. the injectors need to be repaired.
