ordered my 4k gov. kit

im planin on only putin the 3000 part on for now when it gets here. How hard is it to do? Im not even sure where it goes.

stkdram55 06-18-2009 10:14 AM

Its not hard, ive never done it but i have been watching when someone did it...he works at a fuel shop though lol.

You might want to try to find someone that has done this install before, and also i would go ahead put the springs to there full potential and just keep an eye on your R's and you'll be fine and that thing will pull hard

its easier than putting injectors in. Its about as hard as putting a plate in for the first time.

so i can put the whole kit in and be fine with no 60 lb springs? wat is the rpm that you shouldnt go with out the heavyer springs?

stkdram55 06-18-2009 12:00 PM

3200 and you'll be fine, just dont go over that.

bowtech 06-18-2009 12:11 PM

so pretty much dont red line bc it red lines at 3000. the kit dont hurt mpg does it?

cummins95 06-18-2009 12:17 PM

where'd ya get it n how much was it? i wanna do the same for mine

bowtech 06-18-2009 12:24 PM

sweet, its not going to hurt your truck or mpgs, unless you drive it harder, you will then loose mpgs, but once the thrill wears off they will go back to normal. obviously it will burn more fuel fueling harder. now your truck will be able to use more fuel, your foots now the governer, not the spring. Enjoy and do it yourself. just take your time and don't drop anything in the pump and be clean about it. take your measurments and record them. don't be like me a rember them in your head then forget.:w2:

ok so will it mess with the shifting or just the same ?
