ok im kind off stuck. i have everything out of the block except the pistons and rods but i cant pull them out the bottom and there is a hell of a ridge at the top of the cylinders. what can i use that will get rid of that ridge?

 

They make a tool called a ridge reamer. Not sure of the best place to buy one but i am sure napa or a local parts store should be able to get one

on what? i pulled mine threw the bottom of the block

 

you can only pull out threw the bottom if you have crank out.even if you pull them out threw the bottom, you will still have to ream the top of the cylinder because you install threw the top.

Ridge Reamer - 27030oem

use a scraper or blunt edged instrument to loosen the carbon deposits.do not damage the cylinder with the scraper.you can remove the remaining carbon with a scotch-brite cleaning pad.once carbon is removed then you can ream, make sure the ridge reamer does not gouge into the cylinder bore or remove more metal than needed. mark each piston according to the cylinder.
since you have the crank out check your cooling nozzles, make sure they are clean.
when installing the new rings make sure all three rings are 120 deg away from each other(the gaps).
make sure that your install the pistons with word front is towards the front of the cylinder block, if they do not have the making make sure you mark them with a marker indicating front. if you remove the rods make sure you install the same way, if you don't, the rods will hit the block.
