Default ahhh crap

Well guys I abput got sick the other night. I had the inection pump air lock on me, due to a crappy fuel filter set up on the 97. Might I add was a b***** gettin the air bled out. Had the wife in the truck crankin it over while I purged the return valve on ip. While she was cranking over I noticed I had a dang head stud broke......I almost threw up. I don't have the money for a gasket and studs right now, I'm gettin laid off in a week. I checked it over and its not blown a gasket yet. Its the stud on exhaust manifold side between 3-4 cylinder.. I was thinking tryin to get a left handed drill bit ad get it out then replace it.

Take it to a machine shop to see if they can get the bolt out without havin to pull the head. I don't know how they do the things they do but a good shop sure can do some crazy things.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna try it first with a left handed drill bit. If I can't get it ill have a machine shop do it.

Good luck brother, i hate it when you break bolts, sometimes you luck out and get um out easy, sometimes its a lost cause. Let us know how you make out!

they way i get them out.

go to home depot, get easy outs. go home (before you go home ask yourself do i have a torch of some kind) you will need to heat the stud. read directions on the package and remove.
it really is that easy.

and make sure you get a tap, just remove any deposits left in the block.

hope it helps

I've used them easy out's a few times. Every damn one of em have snapped off in the hole and made it worse. I know most guys have good luck with em but I never have. The torch will probably be a must have as long as you really know what your doin with it and don't heat things up to much, that could be a mess.

Am i getting this wrong is it a bolt from the exhaust manifold that vroke or a head bolt that holds the head to the block?

if it's a exhaust manifold bolt it's no biggie.
