i installed my 370 marine injectors and finally got the truck to start.. at first it blew a ton of white smoke.. then it died again. then after a few more tries i got her running.. we noticed that the 2nd injector from the back was spitting out a little of fuel, like it will bubble wen i get on it. i also had a backfire when i started to drive?? how normal is this, if at all normal???

anyways worst part of it all is that my truck is way slower, when i give it some gas i cloud out the street and cars behind me stop... im giving it way to much fuel. im running stock timing as of now, would that cause it to run bad like that?? but it is actually way slower. :booo: anyways any help or advice is much apreciated. i even thought of turning my starwheel down since there is so much extra fuel..

Sounds like,when you started it after replacing the injectors the system had air in it.Did you bleed the air out of the system after you started it the first time?And when #5 injector was spitting fuel out,where did it come from?Loose line?I would say turn down the star wheel alittle and see what happens after you take care of the other issues.

ok. i didnt know how to bleed the air out. and the fuel looked like it was comng from the base of the injector itself:ouch:

I had the same leak when I put mine in. I drove it down the road and I had good power though. I took it back to the shop and had 3 nozzels leaking, so I took them back out. I didn't get all the crud out of the bore the nozzel sits in. I took a bore Brush, brake cleen, and compressed air and cleaned it out. Got new copper washers and put them back in, torqued em all and re-tried it. No leakes. You might try cleaning the bore out.. Just my 2 cents

yes make sure you clean out the bore befor you install them, all that buildup will make it leak. i had to pull my #5,6 injector 4 times till i relized it

when you say bore, do you mean the side that the fuel lines screw around. cuz i wiped that top side with a cue tip.

the bore i ment was were the nozzle sits inside the head. the bottom where the base of the injector sits is where you will have build up after time. ( copper washer meets head ) clean it out real good and try it again:U:.. they can be a pain in the butt sometimes. pretty much you are leaking compression up through th hole, and if i remeber right it can be corrosive to the inside of the bore:humm:.

ya i'm taking my truck to a diesel shop and for $300 they are fixing the leak, changing my timing, tuning my AFC and starwheel and running my truck on the dyno.:U:
