Go to Walmart, purchase a pack of gum. Make sure the gum is bagged in a plastic bag. Return to truck, pop hood open, chew gum, take your air filter out, insert air filter into plastic bag, reinstall air filter with bag. Start truck and drive! Cha-ching black smoke and lots of it!

Oh forgot, return to diesel bombers and actually do some research on your truck before replying to an info thread!

12v problem

Jus got a new vp spring on my 1994 12v Cummins and found out that when I got up to 65mph and I take my foot off the accelerator it still goes the same speed as if my foot was on it. Whenever it starts to slow down and I hit the accelerator it gets stiff and As I slow down my truck truck shuts off, any clues?

Corrision

97 5.9 standard tranny 2WD drive. Recently I experienced the starter problem, starts kill it and it just kicked and lights dimmed. When I got I got into It,
I was surprised to find corrosion under the insulation on all of my 2/0 main cables. The secondary wires were corroded in some places so badly that the wire would pull apart. I changed all of the 2/0 and #8 cable & replaced the lesser wires I arranged all of the accessory wire on a buss bar that I placed on the Lt fender well. I fed the buss with 2 # 6s from the battery. Works fine and is much neater. BTW I used wire looms as much as I could, especially where the wires ran close to the block. The 1/0 & 2/0 are expensive. If you can find welders cable it works. You can buy connectors on line with 3/8 and 5/16 holes that will fit the cable nicely and give a neat look. You'll need a way to compress the fittings. Perhaps take to electrical shop. Good luck.
