I WOULD FIRST LOOK BEHIND IT TO SEE IF ITS PLUGGED INTO THE HARNESS IF NOT THERES YOUR PROBLEM IF SO FOLLOW THE WIRES :U:

IM TRYING TO REMEMBER THERE IS A WAY TO MAGNET TEST IT ON YOUR BUMPER HITCH BUT ITS NOT COMING TO ME I WOULD GET A 12V TEST LIGHT AND HAVE SOMEONE SITTING INSIDE AND GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS WITH LIGHTS BLINKERS BRAKES ETC... AND YOU WILL SEE IF ITS AT LEAST GETTING TO THE REAR HARNESS IF SO THE TRAILER IS NEXT TO TEST

hook to your trailer and turn the controller up hit the brakes if they lock on the trailer they work.

my controler doesn't show signs of working unless it is pluged into a trailer. don't know why it is that way, but it is. also all you need to do is just plug into the trailer, no need to hook up if you are just checkin things out. you can also purchase testers for 4,5,6,and 7 pin plugs, they shouldn't be that expensive, but hookin to the trailer is cheaper......

most brake controllers do nothing unless there is a trailer plugged in to the truck and at times if the trailer is not working right you may think your controller is bad. first i would check the plug with a simple 12v test light. check the turn signals, running lights and brakes if all checks good have some one adjust the break controller while you have the test light on the plug still. the test light should dim as you turn the controller down and get brighter as it is turned up. you can also do all the test with a voltage meter. i can easily figure it out if i was there just hard for me to explain how to do it, hopefully this helps. if you have anymore questions you can message me and i will help as much as i can on here.

i checked it out,i decided to do the first and easiest test,i hooked it up.not working.but i just took one look to see what happened.they cut the factory cable that runs th the plug on the hitch to put a small trailer light plug on it.they even got my blinkers backwards.all i hvve to do is wire it back where they cut it,and get me a adapter for the small plug.
