Default miss and smoke

i bought a 97 cummins auto dually that has a mis blows grey smoke and tons of black smoke .between the turbo housing and the exsuast manifold where the turb bolts to the manifold theres some bubbling looks like either fuel or oil for sure not anti freez .also the tranny shifts from first to 3rn in about 100 feet any ideas..all cylenders have the same temp.checked with an infrared thermo gun ..hey it cost 2000 for the whole truck what can i say had to buy

i have the same bubbling and the miss also excessive blow by...plenty of power tho. we believe the pump has some problem and is feeding the injector with way too much fuel. any advice of where to go next would be great. just had the head done and swapped injectors. thanks for any help!

Does it miss all the time or when its just cold or just hot? What kind of miss is it? ( vid would be great) Does it show more of a miss at a certin rpm? Wheres your idle set at? MIles on the truck? mods?

Cheapest route is getting timing checked and injectors pop tested. As well as checking for fuel leaks.

As for the bubbling... I would have to guess its fuel or coolent. You would know if any oil got into the exhaust!

misses at idle up to 1500. vavles are new. injectors got swapped out for ones that i know are good. idle sounds a little high but cluster is junk so i dont know for sure. miss goes away when the 3rd line is cracked so i can only figure its in the pump. gonna swap pumps with a good one off one of my other trucks. there are no fuel leaks but if there were the problem wouldnt go away by cracking an injector. so i guess i answered my own question if in fact i do find it is the pump. but is this all causing the excessive blow by? i guess ill find out!

fixed it with a diff pump. runs like a champ
