I try to buy only from a select few places so i know i am getting a consistant fuel quality i like to buy from shell, and irving. they seem to be very quaity and clean stations never had a problem. It is key to make sure you buy from a place with newer pumps and also a place that constintaly is buying new fuel. If you buy from a place that doesn't sell much then you risk buying old fuel. Hope this helps a little.... btw, use cetain boost and change your fuel and pre filter @least every 3000-6000 miles. it may be over kill but better be safe than stranded

Diesel fuel quality varies greatly from station to station. Also, there are a lot of impurities and contamination in diesel - mainly water. This is where the aftermarket fuel pumps/filter systems shine. They do a very good job at removing the impurrities and ensure that you get very clean fuel to your injector pump.

Depends on who you ask - Dealership mechanics think all stations have bad fuel - or at least thats always the first problem when you got to take your truck in!!

I agree with the truck stop deal - i use 250 - 300 gallons a week, all but about 30 or so gallons is bought at a truck stop & seem to lucky so far!

I try to buy off the little guy. I know theres not much money to be made in selling fuel or gas, gas stations themselfs dont make much of a profit. But i'd much rather buy it from Joe Smoe's One Stop down the road, then to buy it off of "speedway" or "murphys" someone that noones ever met. I'd rather buy it from the guy whos hard at work keeping his tanks up to code and has grease all over his hands, than to buy it from some rich guy smokin a cigar sittin in his nice clean office.. But thats just my $.02

the only problem with this is that some of the lil guys try to add stuff(as in water) to their tanks so they can make more money. not saying all do these but have know of a few staions who have been caught doing it.
