my 95 5 speed 2wd has 4:10s and i can only get to 80 how can i get it to go faster

change ring and pinion or upgrade you govenor springs Id look for some 3.55 gear if your not loaded to the max every day for the mpgs and you top speed

i dont even know what gearing i have in the rear but my 96 auto only reaches 84mph...

Check under the hood it should say what gearing you have on the sticker mine is located on the underside of the hood. It will say that along with other stuff like transfer case model, rearend model, and some other stuff. 84 is pretty slow, do you have the 180 pump or 160 pump? I can easily hit 100, I usually let off at 90 though because thats when it starts to get hot I try not to go into the red. My transmission has a shift kit tho. I have never dynoed the truck but from what im told I should be between 300-325 at the wheels.

?? my old 89 7.3 would hit 140 no problem wouldn't over heat

Do you have the 3K in your pump...I had my truck up to 85MPH and still have more peddle.I don't know what my top speed is,but its over 85...

Red_Rattler 04-02-2009 12:59 PM

B4 I had the 100 plate, my 97 auto only went 95 but now i can get 110 and feels like more to come but i dont want a speeding ticket or a blown turbo, she boost 40psi with ease. it will also blow the tires right off nice smoky burnouts:rocking:

how fast yuor truck can go in the top end all depends upon your transmission: rear end, mainly
