Lots of blue white smoke.

I have been having the same issue since I bought the vehicle. I thought it was only because it was 0 degrees outside before. But now I live in Virginia and its been 70 and sunny and when I first start the truck it blows blue or white smoke not obnoxiously but enough to see in my side view mirror and puffs it lightly for about 5-7 minutes then it goes away. Also if I rev my truck out (its a manual) to like 2700 rpm (stock Gov Springs) it will blow blue white smoke as its being limited by the gov springs. Like enough that you would think I lugged the motor and sooted someone out but its white and blue and only when I have my foot to the floor and it wont rev anymore in a certain gear. Truck has 297,000 miles may have the original injectors, also not sure if it could be the timing and also noticed some moisture near the lift pump. The cold start in the morning smoke changes almost daily sometimes its worse than other days which makes me think that its air in the lines as well. Any help would be appreciated. I did a quick search and couldnt find an exact answer.

Thanks in advance,
Madison

I've got a 97 2500 4x4 with the 12 valve cummins. In the mornings when I first get her going, mine will smoke like that, also if I sit idling for extended periods of time like at a long red light or drive through window it will start smoking like that. In my case, I kind of think mine is loading up on fuel because after a couple of blocks it clears up again.

no burning oil. and the oil isnt milky so I dont think its a headgasket.

I have owned several 12 valves and still own a 94 reg.cab 5sp. Blue and white smoke is a result in cold cylinder temps, common with 12valve pumps. nothing to worry about, also i bet it cracks and pops when you rev it cold?? Also the nature of a twelve valve, really noticeable when straightpiped even right out of the factory a twelve will do that, simply not enough valves.

that is common with the 12v's but id but pressure on the tank since you said the LP was moist and see if you have a leak on the suck side from tanks to pump put about 20#'s on it and let it set 10 minutes or so also its very common for these 12v's to have cracks in the valve seats when they have some miles on them but I wouldn't worry about that untill you modify heavily also you dont have to have coolant in oil or normally vise versa because of oil pressure to have a bad head gasket hope this helps

Have you checked your timing?

i was told when your injetion pump is weak and going out that it will smoke like that the white and blue.
