Third Gen. Mirrors.
Just bought the third gen flip up mirrors for my pickup. Just wondering if there is any special bracket that i need to purchase to install them.
|
there is a small triangular bracket that you can purchase from the dealer or aftermarket that "sandwich" the door to add more strength. did you buy aftermarket or oem? I put a set of aftermarket on my fathers truck (99 heated & power) and he loves them, alot better then the slide over clip on trailer mirrors:U:

:humm: Third gen flip up tow mirrors on a 2nd gen?
Pics of finished product please? |
I will when i get them on. yes they are aftermarket with a twist. the only sell manual ones for 94 to 98.5. so i bought these and a set for a 2008 so i could have power and heat. then you just change the brackets and do some wiring and then put them on.

oh... you doing the buy 2 sets and make one thing. from what I hear its pretty easy to do. If I had the extra $200 that's what I'd do too!
Now you got me thinkin, I may do this also. I want power lol. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- After a bit of research I am going to do this aswell! lol |
sweet deal. we had them on our one ton until my buddy rolled it pulling 15 ton of hay and just messed the truck up.
|
you guys know you can buy them through kool vue for a 2001 and there is no buying two sets and making one. Also they are the flip up style towing mirrors and power heated.
|
What freak said they sell 98.5 -02 power heated which fit all 2nd gen im saving up for them now, there on ebay as well.
|
Yes they do but by my understanding they wont fit on a second gen 12 valve. That is why you have to buy the two sets.
|
a secound gen 12v is no different that a 2nd gen 24v on how the mirrors mount
