Heater cord plug replacement
Last winter the plug on my heater cord ripped off.
I went to home depot and picked up a snap on 3 prong plug. Went on without problem, except I don't think its working right. Does anyone know if the plugs are polarized? I know there is a green wire and two black wires. I didn't see any writing or anything else to help try to take a guess at which wire was hot and which was neutral (if it mattered). Anyone have any insight? I don't have any reason to suspect that the engine side plug has any issues as the mounting clamps seem to be normal. Going to grab a multimeter later and test the resistance on the cord to test the plug on the engine side. |
I would buy a new block heater cord. Most parts stores or truck suppliers should carry them.
