converter lock up

:argh::argh:my torque converter wont stay in lock up unless im on the throttle. as soon as i back out to a steady crusing speed it unlocks. even when it is locks its only half ass it seems. the only way i can get it to act normal is if i let it warm up for a half hour and totally let off the throttle at highway speeds for ten seconds or so. then when i get back into it its normal again and stays normal. any ideas? thanks

mine was doing it in my 96 dodge, i had to replace the govenor and pressure switch in the tranny and problem solved for about 200 bucks,(parts, oil, filter and gasket,) hope this helps, oh and the local tranny guys couldnt figure it out cuz it didnt have a code to read,(IDIOTS) :U:
