block heater
i just got my 1st diesel last weekend and its been a little weak on startup in the mornings, its suppose to get down to about 20*f tonite, so i plugged in the block heater, is it ok to leave it on all night? im going to get a timer tomorrow but just for tonite i was gonna leave it on all night if its not gonna hurt anything.

no it'll be fine to leave it plugged in, might be a good idea to check your batteries before it starts to get too cold and they leave ya stranded
|
3 hours on a timer is good enough. At those temps, anything longer is basically a waste of electricity. Might as well get the Heavy Duty type of timer.
Welcome to the site BTW, :c: |

How cold does it get there? I dont imagine it gets very cold by "cold" standards. |
block heater? i dont think it even gets cold enough here in texas to make butter stiff.:w2:
if you hug your truck enough it will stay warm ;) and yes, i think its only smart to leave it plugged in all night. plug it in before bed time, than walk out and bust her off in the mornin' |
