White Smoke?

i was at advanced auto with a friend and he wanted to hear my truck at a higher rpm. so while in park i gave it a decent amount of gas and black smoke came out, but he said when i let out of it white smoke came out and i was just wondering how bad (if bad) this is?

with the age on that vehicle, if it was good and warm, I would think that there is a compression issue, maybe some loose/ bad seals, warn out rings, etc. Maybe time for some freshening up(rebuild kit), Maybe not... Somebody who deals w/ dodges can give you a better answer... :w2:

white smoke is generally from carbon buildup on top of the pistons my 95 if im on the road and it idles all night cus its cold and i need the heat will blow white smoke for about 30 miles or so i wouldnt get to worried

My truck did that as well but it also had no compression in 2 or 3 because it blew through, I just dove into it and replace all the gaskets and seals, but when I was taking the head bolts out, a couple of them seemed looser than others. When I got it apart the head looked great and was still fairly flat and the block was perfect, headgasket didnt have any noticeable damage either. The only thing I can think of is that the head bolts were just loose enough to let the head lift a **** hair.. Would you humor me and try a line torque on your head and see what results come of it?
