New Fuel Filter Setup

I'm trying some alternative fuels and need to change the fuel filter on my '95 5.9L 4x4 regularly (like every 5000 miles) until I know how the system will act. But I have GOT to get the filter more accessible...my back's gonna die otherwise. I found a Prime-Loc filter re-locator that looks like it would do the trick but I don't know any background on it. Anybody tried one of these things or something similar? Reckon what theyre askin for one of these things?

We just put one on my BIL's 98 12 valve. It is a great piece but do order the filter with the sensors from someone online so you can be sure to have everything upon installation, or at least source it locally before you order the Prime Loc. We didn't and nobody local had anything. We then had to wait another week for the rest. Once it's done though it is simple and very effective.

If your handy at doing it yourself, I added a 2 micron spin on for my truck. I could send you the part numbers and what not if you like. I don't know of a fancy bracket and what not like their kit has.... so you will have to decide if you would rather do it yourself or just use their kit.

Part numbers would be great Dan - if you have them, please post them up as they might help someone else out too. :U:

What alternative fuel are you running?

I don't know if its something you would want to do, but when I put the Haisley kicker pump in the 98 12V, I relocated the fuel filter to under the body on the inside of the frame rail.

You can also go to a Racor type fuel filter (will have to dig up the part number for you).

Part numbers for these set-ups and some idea of where to get the parts would be great guys. I couldn't care less about a shiny little bracket though. I just need the the set-up to be as worry free and long lasting as the cummins it's feeding. Right now i'm burning waste cooking oil cut with diesel and no heater. it works fine with the alabama summer but i'm gonna have to come up with somethin else before fall sets in with its cool mornings...
