28hrs 4 timing gear reseal in Missouri?
 

Hey yall I have a 97 & the gear case is leaking.The shop said it's about 28 hours worth of work @ 100 bucks an hour that's a good chunk of change. I called allover & every shop said about the same.I thought you didn't have to pull the cam just the cam gear?Does that price sound right? Anyways I'm outside of St Louis if anyone knows of anybody let me know.

28 hours is a lot! yes you have to pull the cam and all other accessories bolted to the housing to replace the gasket that touches the block. its a pain. however it can be done in a day no sweat. bring it to Indiana and I will do it for 10 hours labor at $50 per.
