Sad OIL LEAK BEHIND TIMING COVER

OK so I just changed my oil and it was very very low did not now i had a bad oil leak entire under side of engine coated with oil, cleaned off front of engine ran truck no leak at idle get rpm around 2000 for about 2-4 minutes jump out and look oil is leaking from timing cover housing left side front of engine , how do you fix this leak ? how do you remove timing housing from block, is this a major repair what is aprox cost?

Have you tabbed your KDP?

Are you sure it isn't the crank seal? That's very common.

You have to pull the cam to remove the timing housing. It gets pretty involved. A job best left to a competent mechanic. You don't want to accidentally drop a lifter to the oil pan.

blue ox...how did you handle this issue? lots of vids on tricks to retain lifters using wood dowels..may be the path I take to replace front seal in my 12v

it's been a year, I just noticed, since I posted this reply/question to Blue Ox...meanwhile, I did my KDP, front seal, pump timing..(injectors, deliv valves, AFC live/max travel kit, 4k gov springs from Power Driven Diesel and gauges)...hope he got his issue resolved..
