For those that have painted their engines

How did you go about it? Obvious is to plug and prevent areas you don't want degreaser or paint to touch.

Getting a motor shipped to me next week and while it's out was going to paint it. Though about taking a wire wheel to the head, block, other metal surfaces to remove the existing paint. Though about power washing it with the wand a few feet away but decided against it.

what paint did you use?

Is there a color close to the tan that I can get?

I pressure washed mine, then used a wire wheel on it, then used hightemp grill paint.

If you have everything apart, take it to a shop to have it boiled out. They can and should do the head and block with nothing in/on them and that way you get a clean block and can know for sure that your water jackets and oil passages are clean
