Idles @ 850-900

k so I adjusted my idle because It was running kind of rough&stalling if I reversed out or took off to fast&oil light was coming on.So In park I'm@1k but in drive foot on break ac on blast I'm @850-900.It starts now with just the bump of the key & no stalling no other issues. But wondering if this is too high.I read the sweat spot was 750 but I didn't like it there so should I bump it back down to 800 or so? Btw it's an auto Thanks

its a tad high, i set my idles a bit high but usually 850-900 in park. I'm more concerned with the fact you had to do this to keep it from dying? whats all done to the fuel system? how old is the truck, and any other mods or tuning?

Just a built auto with a 4"exhaust p.o. put on a holly blue pump he had idle set @around 550-600,this is my 97 12 valve not my 99

That's way too low. In park should be 850 minimum and 600-650 in gear

Agreed. I like mine to be around 750 stopped in gear with the AC cranked, which usually translates to somewhere between 850-900 in neutral but I have a pretty tight TC. Any less than 650 stopped in gear and it starts getting pissy.
