12v cummins
Hello let me introduce myself my name is Rocky and I've have my 1996 dodge for awhile but just decided I would like to beef it up a bit any advise would help everything on the truck is still stock with 175k miles on it.
I have done nothing Mod wise all stock as far as I know I would like to get more horse power out of it if I can |
Pyrometer, Boost and fuel pressure gauges.
If you have an automatic transmission then get a temp gauge and valve body kit. After you install gauges, then come the engine modes like a fuel plate, star wheel and diaphragm adjustment. :jump: Also, fill out your sig so we know a little bit more about what you have Welcome to the Bombers! :rocking: |
ok what's a good set of gauges that won't kill me to bad on price
|
I am in the same quandry myself. I am leaning towards Autometer myself.
|
isspro, hands down. I've installed both and isspro is just better all around unless you need 1000 options and different colour stuff. but nice simple gauges that are far easier to install and cleaner install id go isspro
|
Don't forget to upgrade your exhaust system. No sense in modding only to have your stock exhaust defeat your purpose.
|
+1 for ISSPRO. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for with gauges.
|
I never have problems with Autometer. Lots of problems with Stewart Warner. Both fuel and Pyrometer.
For the exhaust, I'd reccomend putting a stock 24 valve manifold on. I've done this on a couple of 12 valves with excellent results. use the 12 valve gasket though. |
I've had horrible luck with Autometer. I've never used their stepper motor gauges, but if you can afford those, you can afford ISSPROs with money back.
|
just so everyone knows I'm new to beefing up motors btw.
I'm also trying to fix the body up anyone know a place that might sell beds that are clean also |
