injectors??

I have a 94 12v with ddp 3 injectors, 18.5 dgree advance, 0 plate, 60 lbs valve springs, titanium caps and keepers, fire rings, 4k gov. springs, 64 mm fat shaft spool, 7/16 studs, 150 air dog, water meth injectors, it is 475hp/860 ft lbs at the wheels when the cam drops off. I tuned the pump on the dyno for hp numbers so it's sorta set on kill for this setup. I own a sound company so I haul p.a. equipment through a lot of mountains, a lot of weight. when I am doing the speed limit I am at around 1500 to 1750 rpms and when I hit a hill it tends to smoke out and heat up the egts, so it seems the turbo doesn't clear out and blow air till about 2000 rpms. it seems when ever I talk to a tech guy he also is the sales person so I feel like I'm being talked into buying something. my question is do I need to downgrade to a smaller nozzle or can lean out the injector pump so the spool can hit sooner? if I need to go to stage two ddp's then does anyone want to trade some for a set of stage 3's?

what turbine wheel is on your 64mm?

it sounds like you need to play more with your AFC to me

it's an industrial injection silver 64, the newer ones say a 74mm turbine wheel but I am not sure about this one as it is a few years old. yeah, I think i'll do a little test and tune with the pump before I spend money I probably don't need to. thanks.

first issue is your trying to tow with a silver 64, from my experience and reading a lot I've come to the conclusion that the silver series turbos are junk with their 74 turbine, you heat up and run out of air before they even spool. also your trying to tow with a 64/74 turbo in a 12v and you have fairly large injectors. my buddies 64/71 bd would have trouble towing and his set up is cleaner than yours. and like 94 said your afc also probably needs tuning. before you start swapping turbos and injectors even though the silver bullet is best left with the ii groupies. you should look into afc live to control the fuel and get more fine tuning. power driven diesel makes it and they work great. has my buddies truck quite controllable and all done from the drivers seat.
