Possible new 2nd gen

Alright guys. I'm currently looking around for a 2nd Gen 12 valve cummins. I've been searching and came across a 97 3500 single cab at a local used dealership. The truck looks nice on the website and shows no body damage, but again that's just pictures. It's an SLT model with a 5 speed and has a super clean interior especially for being 18 years old. Now there's only one thing that I'm weary about. It's priced at $12,995. That seems a little high to me but here's the kicker: the odometer says 106,xxx miles. I haven't seen the truck in person yet but am going to soon. I'm hoping the odometer is true and not turned back. If everything checks out do ya'll think this would be a good buy? This would be the first diesel I've bought as the family farm trucks don't count. What's your guys opinions?

that seems a little high for that year and milage. i would go on kelly blue book and see what it says for the price.
Something to look for. look at the timing cover and look for any cranks and fluid leaking out, that may be a sign of the kdp, or killer dowel pin backing out.
If you do buy it, i would get the kdp dealt with first, if it has not been done before.

That does seem high, but I've seen older with more miles asking more. Not getting more necessarily, but this is far from unprecedented. There's also a lot about this particular truck that may or may not justify it that we don't know. My knee jerk reaction to the price though, knowing none of these things, is that they may be smoking crack. Hard to say for sure though.
