Is 24V block the same as a 12v block

I have a 95 dodge cummins looking to rebuild but also have a 98 cummins motor what is different between the two engines

The one big difference is the crank sensor mounting location on a 24 valve is different it extends internally to the block.
I would recommend selling the 24 v block and getting the right one.

the 24 Valve blocks are prone to cracks as well arnt they ?

I personally would stick with the 12V block my self ...:tu:

not all 24v blocks are prone to cracks just the 53 model block is the one known for cracking.

Good to know ...

I been thinking about P-Pump 6.7 lately ...but .. $$$ is limited .. I might just do a 24V P-pump instead

24v blocks also have smaller main bolts.
