Engine stays running
Hi all . I just purchased sort of a basket case . It runs good but is kinda kobbled . Someone pulled the fuel shutoff off and replaced it with a choke cable . Is this common practice? I was worried that the starter syl was back feeding the fuel shutoff and that may be why . How do I check this without the shutoff syl hooked up ?
I noticed also the feed to the fuse box is drawing power without the key in the on position . Is this normal ? Thanks for any help |
Some things have power when the key is off, like the power port, lights, etc. So yes, it's normal for power to be going into the box. Replacing the FSOS with a cable is very common. When they're working, they're great, but once they start exhibiting problems they can rapidly become a PITA and it isn't unusual at all for people to get fed up and just delete them. Personally, I use a vernier locking cable on mine. I started out with a choke cable, but didn't like how it didn't stay where I put it.
