transmission problems

Hi I've got a 95 dodge 2500 that was a v10 that I converted to a 5.9l cummins 12v. I was in an accident a couple weeks back with it where it peirce the tranny cooler infront of my bumper and we'll long story short I now need a tranny. I still have a v10 driver line (minus the v10) sitting at a shop both engine and truck are all the same year. I'm wondering if I can use the v10 tranny in the time being till I have the money to put a trusty nv4500 in the truck. Do I need a special adapter for the bellhousing?
Thanks,

so you want to use the auto 47rh out of the v10 behind the cummins? the only problem that i can see is that the mechanical govenor in the tail housing uses different parts between the cummins and a gas motor due to the RPM range of the motors, they will interchange and its simple to swap the diesel for gas parts but you have to take the OD part of the transmission apart which isnt so easy only because the planets in OD may become misaligned when you pull the OD housing off the intermidate shaft-then you just has to use a big 5 ro 10 ton press to compress the 800lbs spring and realign the planets. it will shift funny if you try to use the gas parts behind the diesel or maybe not shift at all
