98 delivery valve help
I have a 98 automatic 12 valve. I have a 100 plate, bhaf, timing advanced, boost elbow and 215 injectors and a airdog 100.. im looking at buying some delivery valves but not sure on what to go with.. i dont want alot of smoke i just want some more power.. i also dont wanna spend couple hundred bucks for 20hp either.. i dont beat the truck or race it just want a little more pep to get on the highway since this thing has no top end at all lol.. i was looking at 191s but from i know i already have 181s so i dont think its gonna be enough for me lol.. so maybe .024s or .022s? Thanks!

Get a 4k gsk and valve springs, that will help on top end. If this isn't enough for you I would get a bigger turbo before the DV's
Make sure you got the tranny built up to handle your current mods as well, a torque converter can make the world of a difference in acceleration. |
DVs aren't what you want with that pump.

Oh sorry i forgot to add i do have the pacbrake 3gsk.. that i believe i made a little tight because in nuetral it will free rev to 3500.. i only did it once dont want to float a valve so some dsy i gotta get back in there and take them down a click.. i also have a somewhat built trans that was put in about 4 months ago.. truck has get up and go in first gear but the rest of the gears seem like crap until it hits overdrive then it pulls like a mule lol..

Get a better turbo, maybe a little bigger injectors. You don't really need bigger DV's unless you want to put down some power :rocking:

Well i replaced the turbo not too long ago with a reman hx35 from my work since i get parts cheap, but i was thinking maybe putting a bigger exhaist housing on and a 4 inch exhaust.. my exhaust now is 3 inch straight pipe.. and since my injectors are new do you think it would be smarter to just put a set of bigger nozzles on? And for the delivery valves i dont mind pushing alot more power i jus dont wanna smoke out the streets and run 1800 egts like i use to in my commonrail lol.. this truck has 200k on it now and i would like it to run as long as possible

Ok so it would be a better investment to go with maybe like 90hp nozzles instead..and upgrade the exhaust housing on the turbo and a 4 inch exaust

I would go with 5x.012s and get a super b turbo, valve springs for intake and exhaust, buy the upgrade to make the gsk a 4k. You will have plenty of clean power on tap with a properly tuned afc.

Ok cool thanks! The pacbrake kit i bought came with the extra spring to do the 4gsk i just left it out because from what i understand having an automatic will be pointless putting it in being my truck will never see 4k rpm because of the shift points..
