Dually swap????
How hard is it to swap a single wheel to a dually. Is it bed and the wheels with the different wheel lugs or is it more then that??

Dually axle is narrower than a single wheel. if you change the rear end and use the front hub adapters, switch the bed and wheels you should be good to go.

I sold my front spacers, bed and wheels already. Easy job to switch dually to single wheel. Little more work to do the opposite. Probably need longer rear wheel studs. |
check again the dually are narrower than single wheel.

My 94 is narrower then a single. We converted mine to single wheel. On my 1/2ton conversion I'm just going to run wheel spacers make it look right

DRW pickup is wider (~72")
DRW cab & chassis is supposedly narrower (~68") SRW pickup (~70" drum style, ~71" disc) I have the 95 D80 DRW pickup axle, and D80 SRW axles (02 disc and 94 drum) for reference, so I'm not BSing anyone on those. :moon: To go to DRW, swap the rear end, and put on front hub extensions. However, if you moved up to 19.5" wheels you might be able to clear the SRW brakes. |
My truck that I pulled the axles from was a 94 c&c factory drw so that explains why mine is narrow

Could you use the same drive shafts???? My friend has a dually and we wanna switch beds and rears but not sure on the drive shafts

Driveshaft stays the same SRW to DRW... the exception is going between different series axles i.e. Dana 70 vs 80. The 80 has a longer pinion, and needs a shorter driveshaft.... or a lift to eat up the excess.
